Fall is time for Cosy Food

Its been raining for the past week, continuously, constantly and gently. Everything is cold, damp and puddly but not flooded. 

The last cows were taken away to the processor so our fields are empty except for deer, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, grouse and sleeping bears.

Today however the sun shone! Its amazing how surprising this was. It was as though we hadn't seen sunshine for a week! 

Steve went out and worked on getting wood ready by piling it up, broke a part on the tractor, went to town for replacement, returned and repaired then finished piling the wood. This is the actual flow of farming. 

The cut logs go in the banana boxes for easy transport. Some of these boxes are over 10 years old!

More Stuff Breaking

The bottom part of the hinge that holds up the walk-in freezer door cracked off and the top part swung out of the gap. Since the door weighs a bazillion pounds, trying to get it lined up and inserted again was hernia territory. Fortunately it wasn't very warm out and once the door was lifted back on it stayed shut. 

A replacement took a couple days but it's now repaired and working again.

We will deliver orders to your house for your neighbors and yourself and nearest customers to collect on Fridays or Saturdays every other month. You get a percentage of the total drop and $10 in store credits for any new people who you pick or have come unreferred to your pickup location.
